The Polar World Play Set & Story Prompt Cards invites children to create a wintry small world filled with icy landscapes, polar animals and imaginative adventures.
At the heart of the scene is a beautiful natural coffee wood stump, approximately 20 cm high, topped with a neutral Paulownia wood base and a charming wooden house with a snowy felt roof. As coffee wood is shaped by nature, each stump is wonderfully unique, with variations in shape, size, texture and character.
Create a frozen landscape around the house using the soft white nuno felt cloth, winter felt rocks, white rocks, papier-mâché ice and felt ice floes. A polar bear family and seal can explore the ice, while two winter fairy gnomes add a touch of make-believe to the story.
The set is accompanied by 12 Polar Worlds Story Prompt Cards, beautifully illustrated with wintry scenes and designed to provide a starting point for storytelling. Choose a card, look closely, begin with the prompt and imagine what happens next.
Children can recreate the scene, invent a completely new polar world, or combine the pieces differently each time they play.
